31810-PRE-WW2 SMITH & WESSON K-22 OUTDOORSMAN’S .22 LONG RIFLE CAL. DOUBLE ACTION REVOLVER SERIAL NUMBER 634189 CIRCA 1933. Six shot revolver with 6” round barrel. Adjustable target rear and block and blade target front sights. Barrel stamped on top with Smith & Wesson Springfield, Mass. U.S.A. address and 1906, 1909 and 1914 patent dates. Japanese custom made ivory grips relief carved with dragon and sea serpent motifs and a monogram medallion at top of right flat with the initials “WLH” and the underside of both grip flats inscribed in old ink “W.L. HEIBERG, U.S.N./TOKYO, JAPAN/APRIL(APR.)-1910.”. It is probable that these grips were from an earlier similar Hand Ejector M&P.38 with thicker grip straps. Credence for this hypothesis is given by the paper spacers behind each of the grip flats to accommodate correct screw length. All matching and factory original with exception of the aforementioned grips and added lanyard ring. Excellent to near mint condition with all the original blue finish.
